Preikestolen is located 604 metres above sea level and is the most visited attraction in the county of Rogaland. The city centre of Stavanger is quite compact, which makes it easy to reach most attractions on foot. Old Stavanger offers Europe’s best preserved wooden house settlement, consisting of more than 170 white wooden houses. On your walk you can easily stop by some of the city’s many museums, such as the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, Stavanger Art Museum and the Norwegian Canning museum.

Day 3

Begin your tour walking through Stavanger city centre, towards Godalen. Located on the peninsula Storhaug,
this is a popular Sunday trail for the locals and an exquisite area for Nordic walking.
Here, an approximate one and three quarter mile coastal walk stretches from one small boat harbour to another. The trail runs in open countryside beside the fjord, and offers fantastic views over the Gandsfjord and the mountains beyond. There are several lovely beaches along the way and you will also pass several large rocky headlands protruding into the fjord.
A short pause in a peaceful outdoor area allows you to sit down and relax. You’ll have a chance to try one of Norway’s best loved culinary treats – Kvikk Lunsj (a biscuit similar to ‘Kit Kat’) and a refreshing drink; this constitutes a typical Norwegian trail snack (own cost).
Rejuvenated, you will continue back to the hotel along the Blue Promenade – another popular route which takes you around the harbour in the city centre.
Please note that this tour is 5 ½ miles long and there are no toilet stops on the route. If this is too tough for the age-group we would be happy to offer a shorter alternative
Check-in for your 3 night stay at the Comfort Hotel Square Stavanger (or similar)
The Comfort Hotel® Square is located in central Stavanger. The hotel has a modern gym and the most spectacular rooftop terrace in the city. The FOOD+BAR restaurant is worth a visit by itself! Modern, stylish and with a great location in Stavanger – Comfort Hotel Square gives you real value for money. The location couldn’t be more central, right next to Stavanger’s shops and restaurants. The airport bus stops 300 metres from the hotel. Go down the stairs and you are literally in the middle of Stavanger.

The tour includes stops at The Three Swords Monument, where many brutal battles took place as well as several other historical locations of great importance.
